On National Nutrition Day, the Kilema Pofu Dispensary in Njiapanda Ward and RHAI, hosted a community-centered event dedicated to improving women’s health and child nutrition. Led by government nutritionists, the program emphasized empowering mothers with the knowledge and tools needed for better family nutrition

Key Activities and Highlights:
Nutrition Screening: Children underwent MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) screenings, identifying those at risk of malnutrition, with additional support provided for severe and moderate cases.
Health Checks: Weight assessments and vaccinations ensured children stayed on track with critical health milestones.
Nutrition Education: Parents, especially mothers, participated in hands-on sessions on preparing nutrient-dense porridge and other affordable, healthy meals.
The success of this event was made possible by the collaboration of district health workers, including the district nutritionist, the district mother and child health coordinator, and the dedicated team from Rural Health Access Initiatives (RHAI). This day reinforced the commitment to empowering women with essential nutrition education, fostering healthier families and a brighter future for every child in the community.
