    Main objective of the project

    Strengthen sustainable farming systems in riparian communities to limit agricultural deforestation in Gombe National Park.

    Expected results

    at least 80% of farmers in 3 villages are downsizing in the Gombe National Park

    at least 60% of targeted farmers set up sustainable farming practices outside the park

    The sources of income of 30 households in the 3 target villages are diversified

     Some of the implemented projects

    1. Enhancing Resilience and Sustainable resource use for Food, Health and Livelihoods Security of Agro-Fishing Communities in Kigoma, Western Tanzania The project supported by Tree for the Future; is an integrated response towards addressing existing and emerging threats to the vulnerable biodiversity of Lake Tanganyika Basin area
    2. Restoring and conserving degraded fragile ecosystems for enhanced community livelihoods and environmental stability among the refugee and host communities of Nyarugusu refugee camp. Objective: Improved livelihoods, ecosystem resilience, and climate change adaptation in refugee-hosting landscapes through sustainable practices
    3. Biodiversity conservation of KIU village forest for equitable access to ecosystem services, Urambo, Western Tanzania
    Objective: strengthened community-based forest management regimes for conservation and sustainable management of KIU forest for maintenance of ecological integrity and equitable access to ecosystem services.
